I finally got back on the bike today after a summer of business interspersed with yucky weather and recently injury! I used Strava Cycling to track my  ride today.  I love this app!  The GPS feature is accurate.



It shows elevation gains, calories burned in addition to time and distance.I am learning that it is similar to the Nike + running app in that you can participate in challenges, earn achievements.  If you like a little friendly competing, there are public segments(sections of road) available where you are ranked by how fast you travel the segment. Once I get back in the bike swing I may go on and try it!
I must admit, being back on the bike gives me the tri urge again….I may have to give it a go!
