After ignoring the pain in my calf for far too long, I finally came to terms with the fact that I should take a break from running for a couple days. The thought of walking indoors on a treadmill with this beautiful weather, though, was not so appealing. Instead, I decided to go for a walk in my neighborhood using Mapmywalk. What I thought would be a frustrating cardio session turned out to be surprisingly rewarding. I found myself thoroughly enjoying my pace and by the time I checked my distance on the app, I had already gone over 3 miles. Using Mapmywalk and music consisting a playlist full of Jay-Z and Aer, I pushed myself even further than I had originally planned. My walk ended up lasting an hour. Not only was my heart rate up, but my head was clear as well.
